Kirk Douglas, one of the last surviving members of Hollywood’s golden age, died yesterday at his home in Beverley Hills, California.
The legendary actor’s son Michael broke the news to the world, posting to social media to inform people of his father’s passing. Kirk Douglas was 103.
Tributes are now flooding in from around the world, with many celebrating Douglas’ life, longevity and incredible career.
One of the most heartfelt tributes came from daughter-in-law Catherine Zeta-Jones, who said she would love Kirk for the rest of her life.
The pair had a close relationship over the years, and his loss is sure to have exacted a heavy toll.
“To my darling Kirk,” Catherine wrote on Instagram, “I shall love you for the rest of my life. I miss you already. Sleep tight…”
Catherine also moved to support husband Michael as he paid his respects to his iconic father.
“He loved you so very much my darling,” the 53-year-old said.
