The summer is pretty much here, and with it comes those warm nights you can only dream of during the bleak mid-winter.
You know the ones I’m talking about; those summer evenings where it seems like the sun will stay around forever, the air is thick with pleasant smells, and you gather your friends and family to enjoy the comfort of the outdoors.
Well, if you’re one of those who enjoys simply spending lazy afternoons and blissful evenings in the backyard, we have a truly amazing DIY pergola and fire pit setup to show to you. Created by Lauren Ashworth of Little White House Blog, the structure in question has everything you need to get the very best out of the warmest months, including a fire pit, movie screen, porch swings, chairs, a built-in bar and a pergola.
Lauren herself wrote on Remodelaholic: “It is truly an outdoor oasis and an area we created for the sole purpose of bringing our family and friends together. It’s a conversation piece around our small town and we love making s’mores, star-gazing, and relaxing here at the end of the day.”
Indeed, if a place to mingle and sink into a satisfying end of the day is what you’re looking for, Lauren’s structure certainly seems like it more than holds its own. Her and her husband Brett forged the project for no more than $2,300, while the labor itself took them just two weeks. Lauren herself believes those handy when it comes to building and construction could finish it within two days.
Equipped with porch swings on its outer edge, and chairs assembled around a fire pit, it makes for a great spot to host any sort of night you might imagine. Lauren and Brett even managed to hang up an American flag on theirs!
