Albert Passavanti recently shared a video on Facebook that is a perfect example of the effects of adrenaline.
When Albert witnessed his 1½-year-old son take a tumble into a swimming pool, he jumped up from his seat and cleared a four-foot fence.
Albert and his family were lounging by the pool in Palm Beach County, Florida, when their sunny Sunday took a sudden turn for the worst.
As Albert watched his wife and daughter enjoy the water, the couple’s toddler, Rocco, wandered through the open pool gate. He walked around the side of the pool and reached for an inflatable ball. The ball slipped away, and while reaching for it Rocco fell in.
“The second you see it; you get Superman strength and just have to go for it,” Albert told WPTV. “Whatever you got to do.”
In the video, Albert didn’t even appear to think twice about the four-foot gate blocking his path.
“It didn’t even cross my mind to go around, it was point A to point B.”
Thankfully no one was injured, but Anna Stewart, manager of the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Palm Beach County, said diving into a pool can result in drowning.
“You can drown also, but we know parents are going to do what they’re going to do, right? They’re going to go in and save their children.”

Albert wrote on Facebook the gate is always shut, unless an adult is present, but since Rocco has become more daring, they’re planning on enrolling Rocco in swimming lessons.
“But [I] cant stress enough, nothing is as effective as watching your kids very closely.”
WOW!
He didn’t even think twice about going around the fence or the fact that he could have injured himself when he dove over the fence.
I’m so glad they’re both ok.
