It can be daunting to read about the cruel world we live in. But it should never be a reason to stop standing up against what is wrong and unjust in the world. Bullying is certainly one of those things we simply must stand up against. And one 17-year-old from Newfoundland, Canada named Lynelle Cantwell has shown us a very good way to do so. Lynelle was voted “the ugliest girl in class” by some male classmates. But Lynelle refused to let such a painful, cruel act put her down. Instead, she expressed her thoughts in a brilliant Facebook post which has since gone viral – and understandably so.
Almost 7,000.
That’s the amount of shares 17-year-old Lynelle Cantwell’s Facebook post got after she discovered that her name was on a list that was spread on the site Ask.fm, a controversial social networking site where users create profiles and can send each questions, reports the Independent.

By now, I’m sure the bullies have read the 17-year-old’s simple, yet powerful words. I thought she stood up for herself and the other girls in her class perfectly. Lynette’s letter was understandably hailed after she posted it online, and she later expressed gratitude for the support on her twitter account:
“I cant thank everyone enough for all the positive vibes i’m being sent! Thank you for giving me a reason to inspire.”
