Most people probably make up their minds about Edel Pierre as soon as they set eyes on him. After all, the 29-year-old from Paris, France has a shaved head, stretched out earlobes, and tattoos from head to toe. So it’s not entirely unexpected that instead of greeting Edel with warm applause, the audience of the Russian version of “The Voice” just sits there in stunned silence. The judges, on the other hand, have their backs turned away from the stage during this blind audience. With audience and judges in entirely entirely different head spaces, Edel belts out the opening to ”Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin and shatters any expectations that people had for him. Within seconds, the judges start turning around to get a look at this powerhouse of a singer, and the audience goes from their distrustful whisper to a roar of approval. By the end, the judges are speechless, while the crowd can’t stop cheering. Besides being just an awesome version of Led Zeppelin’s classic song, Edel’s performance also goes to show you that you can’t judge a book by its cover. Watch his jaw-dropping performance of “Whole Lotta Love” below!
