Call it a case of being in the right place at the right time. If these kayakers hadn’t have been paddling off the coast of Spain one recent sunny day, they never would have seen the turtle in the video below struggling to break free from a plastic net. And the turtle almost certainly would have met a different fate. Fortunately, though, the pair of kayakers pulls the turtle out of the water and immediately unwrapps the plastic from the turtle’s neck. Once free, the turtle flaps its legs almost joyfully, and the man gives it a loving kiss before setting it back into the water to freely swim about. At the time of writing this article, this video has collected more than 23 million views on Facebook. Hopefully, it will be a vivid example of why we should work to keep garbage out of our oceans.
