I love visiting flea markets and second hand stores. I love knowing that I just never can know what I’ll find.
One could hope, of course to find something very unique and perhaps even valuable – which can still be bought for next to nothing. Sometimes you find real bargains and can actually make money if you’re lucky.
But few have the same luck as Randy Guijarro.
Randy bought a box of old black and white photos at a garage sale for $2.00. He didn’t think they were worth anything, and picked them up strictly because he thought they looked cool and unique.
When he came home, he went through them and saw that most of the pictures were without any value. But then he suddenly saw a familiar face on one of the pictures.
That face belonged to Billy the Kid, known as one of the Wild West’s most notorious outlaw. Billy the Kid, or, more officially, William H. Bonney, was shot dead in 1881 when he was only 23-years-old, after having lived a life on the run from justice.
Finding a photo of him is very rare – and definitely valuable. The image Randy bought for $2.00 turned out to be worth a fortune. He later sold the photo for a whopping $5million.
Now that’s what I call a great flea market find!
