Bride says “I do,” jumps on plane and flies 800 miles to dance with her 94-year-old sick Grandpa

Every little girl thinks about her wedding day. Apart from the dress and the groom, one of the most important aspects of any wedding celebration is the presence of beloved family members.

But sometimes, life has different plans and we have to adjust ourselves to the new information we may receive. This bride had a similar situation, but luckily she was able to figure it out!

Everything was perfect and according to what Natalie Browning wanted. She was preparing to marry the love of her life in a beautiful wedding ceremony.

Her wedding date was set for June 27th, and she was all ready to say her vows. But just a day before her wedding, the family received some upsetting news; her grandfather Nelson May had had a stroke.

The bride’s grandfather was an important member of the wedding party. He had been looking forward to sharing a dance with his beloved granddaughter in her wedding dress but because of the stroke would be unable to travel and attend the wedding.

Just like him, Natalie had been looking forward to sharing a dance with her grandfather too. And she decided, that is exactly what she would do.

Soon after the wedding, the new bride took a flight from Virginia to Florida where her grandfather lives. She packed her wedding dress and did her makeup at the airport so she could show up to his door in all her wedding day glory. She planned on sharing a dance with her grandpa in his living room.

The small business owner shared an insight into her philosophy, “I run a small jewelry business called Of Great Value that is centered around reminding people that they are deeply valuable,” she shared. “I’ve been trying to implement that belief more in my own life and wanted my grandpa to know that he is incredibly valuable to me. And even though he was unable to come to my wedding, that the dance he so desired to have with me was valuable too. So, we made it happen.”

It is so important to remember our elders and honor them in their old age because we never know how much time someone has left and every moment spent together becomes a precious memory.

Share this sweet moment between a grandfather and his granddaughter to inspire others to make more sweet memories with their loved ones.
