5 signs Harry & Meghan might return to royal life after family’s ‘Olive Branch’ & being side-by-side in grief

The Royal Family has gone through a major upheaval recently with the death of the Queen. They are now dealing with the aftermath of the monarch’s death, figuring out the new hierarchy, and more.

Of course, there is also a personal side to this loss. The loss of a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. And the family has banded together to go through this great loss they are experiencing.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no strangers to the front pages of a newspaper. The couple has been making headlines ever since they first met and started dating.

When they tied the knot in 2018, over 2000 people were invited to the wedding. With millions watching the festivities from around the world. The media was well-known for their disdain for Meghan Markle.

However, the media frenzy surrounding the couple only worsened in 2020, after they decided to officially leave the Royal Family and step down from their official duties as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The couple along with the toddler Archie settled in Montecito, Southern California. In their new home and country, they welcomed their daughter Lilibet in 2021.

After the couple stepped down from their royal duties, they had to figure out another way to earn money. In that vein, they set up the Archewell Foundation, which is their catchall for all their professional persuits after leaving royal life.

As for how they are faring on their own, Harry has said in interviews that they are doing all right. He said, “It’s actually really weird because it’d seem like a lot of pressure. But it just feels natural and normal.”

The couple is focusing on Meghan’s forte which is media, as Archewell has its Archewell Audio, and Archewell Productions divisions. Apart from that the couple is heavily involved in charitable causes, both in the UK and Germany.

One of their most popular chairty events is the The Invictus Games, a tournament for wounded war veterans, which Prince Harry founded in 2014. They are also heavily involved in One Young World Summit, a global platform for youth leaders, as well as for the WellChild Awards, a charity Harry has been a patron of since 2007.

Their messy exit from the Royal Family caused a lot of tension in the family internally. Harry revealed in interviews that his relationship with both his father and brother had remained strained since he stepped down.

And Harry and Meghan were in the UK for professional engagements when they received news of the Queen’s ill health. Harry immediately rushed to Balmoral where the Queen was but his flight landed just a little after her death.

Despite the rift in the family, everyone has noticed how they have banded together since the death to make sure they are putting up a united front in the face of this tragedy.

The Sussexes cancelled all their engagements and were fully with their family to play their part in this difficult time. The first sign of an olive branch came when the new Prince and Princess of Wales invited along the Sussexes for their walkabout outside Windsor Castle to look at memorials.

People were surprised that both couples appeared together. The brothers also walked behind their grandmother’s coffin together, and stayed side by side during the procession. This display of brotherly unity raised question about Harry perhaps being welcomed back into the familial fold.

According to reports in the Sun, a reconciliation between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family might be in the works from what it seems after the Queen’s death.

Another sign of the brother’s reconciliation was the fact that they appeared at Westminster Hall for the Queen’s funeral together. During the funeral, Meghan took her place behind Camilla, the Queen consort which further fuelled speculations about a familial reconciliation.

After the procession, it is said that Prince William also ushered his brother and sister-in-law to their seats at St George’s Chapel. William, who was busy ushering everyone to their seats, pointed his brother and Meghan Markle to theirs as well, which was a heartfelt moment.

Since Prince Harry stepped down from the Royal Family, he was stripped of his military titles and honors and hence not permitted to wear his uniform anymore. However, during the ceremony for the Vigil of the Princes, he was permitted by King Charles III to wear his military garb; another olive branch extended to him.

In the King’s first address to his nation, it did not go unnoticed that he specially mentioned his youngest born and his wife. He said in his speech, “I want also to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas.”

When Harry and Meghan left the Royal Family in 2020, it seemed they would never return. The couple seemingly wanted to gain financial independence and set about doing so.

While olive branches were extended, their absence was noticed during the big dipomatic reception the King held for world leaders and politicians who showed up to pay respects to the late Queen.

It is not clear whether an invitation back into the folds of the Royal Family has been promised but it does seem some misgivings have been laid to rest with this event in the Royal Family.

There are several matters left to gain clarity on as to where Prince Harry stands with his family. One of those matters being his children Archie and Lilibet being titled as ‘Master’ and ‘Miss’ on the website and not with ‘HRH’ or Prince and Princess titled. It is still unclear whether the two siblings will be endowed with these titles.
