Champ and the family strolled the Salt River when another group of wild horses appeared on the other side.
In the second group were playful two stallions.
Champ and his family became curious about the horses on the other side of the river – and decided to visit.
They began to swim across the river – but soon, everything took a dramatic turn. Suddenly, panic struck one of the foals and she was about to be caught up in the current.
The foal was pulled down under the water and came up to the surface completely panic-stricken.
Champ swam immediately to her to try to get hold of the young fill and pull her to safety. But it did not work.
The foal disappeared further away – but the brave stallion refused to give up.
He left the other horses and swam rapidly after the foal.
And this time, he managed to get hold of her neck!
Champ took her gently and did not let go until she was safe.
Once back on land, the filly went straight to her mother after the dramatic event.
Champ went over to the other side to greet the other horses.
When he came across the head of the other family, the stallions greeted each other with great respect.
Then, Champ returned to his family so they could continue their journey. Everything had a happy ending, thanks to Champ’s quick-thinking.
